Caught On Video At The Ropemakers Jam Session

Is this Callum, Jim, Mike….or someone we never saw come in!!

Cheeky devils!

It is now 20th January and yes – this is a long break since an entry here!!

It makes sense to just say here that repeated posting about these Jam sessions would not necessarily “enhance” the news!! Suffice to say – come on in and HAVE A GO!!

The sessions have been well attended every month. The efforts of all the guys – especially Jon and Lawrence who bring the PA and organise the Drum “rota” needs to be mentioned! Tony from Mojo is now a regular and can be seen encouraging the youngsters to get up and play the guitar.

I could mention all who turn up – and miss someone out!! Rather than do that I would just like to say a huge “thank you” to EVERYONE, including all the visitors to the venues!

Ropemakers Jam Session back in October 2009

(Since these photos and short write up were entered here the venue has changed. Now the first Sunday of the month is at the Crown Inn, West Bay Road. See on Facebook here.)

Once again we met at the Ropemakers in Bridport and yes – this entry is LATE!! My apologies for that.

Great afternoon and plenty of great music! Several musicians came in to “have a go” and one gentleman had come in from Axminster – Don was down for a spell from London and saw the jam session advertised so came on in! He played several numbers – one of his own as well. An excellent number if I may be so bold!!

Anyway – a few photos from the afternoon – not as good as those taken at the last jam session by Max’s father, Dorset based photographer Jonathan Gooding!

Ropemakers Jam Session, Sunday 7th September 2009

Bridport Jam Sessions

Ropemakers Jam Session

Here we go again!! The monthly session in the Ropemakers, Bridport! Bridport hosts 2 monthly jam sessions for musicians keen to play and entertain by just getting up and having a go! As yet I have no details for the Hope and Anchor – I’m sure we’ll get them soon.
The Ropemakers “House Band” was joined this week by Danny Corick on percussion.
Two young lads arrived to join the “house band”, Callum and Max.

  • Callum, a talented young drumsmith, has been a regular at the jam session in both the Ropemakers and the Hope and Anchor. I believe he is doing all exams to do with playing the drums and is getting on very well. See photos below..
  • Max – he was seen on stage with Mojo in Poole a few weeks ago when he came to the Lord Nelson and stood in for a couple of numbers. This young lad is an excellent player and jammed along with both Jon and Tony.

The whole afternoon was great entertainment with a session from regular contributor, Mutter Slater and his drummer Danny Wheeler

(I hope I got all the names right?? If not let me know!!).
